If you are external and apply, your application will not be considered at this time.We're looking for an Area Manager to lead and inspire teams across multiple student catering sites, ensuring great food and exceptional service every day.You'll manage people and resources to meet company targets, budgets, and maintain high standards that reflect our professional image.Job DescriptionReporting to an Operations Manager, you'll oversee contracts worth up to £1.5m annually, directly managing Catering Managers and Relief Chefs.Your role is key to delivering consistent service quality, compliance, and building strong relationships with customers and staff.If you're a hands-on leader passionate about food and people, ready to drive performance and continuous improvement, this is the role for you.Key Responsibilities

• Champion Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with regulations, reporting accidents, and maintaining hygiene standards.
• Oversee food quality, menu adherence, portion control, and promote excellent customer service and satisfaction.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, responding promptly to feedback and organising engagement events.
• Manage and develop the team with clear communication, training, appraisals, and adherence to HR policies and diversity principles.
• Ensure effective rostering and cover to maintain smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Implement business plans and new initiatives to improve customer, client, and team satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records for HR, payroll, food safety, health & safety, and training, ensuring timely performance reviews and improvements.
  
  Level 3 Food Safety and Health & Safety certificates or equivalent.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience as an Area Manager in school catering or equivalent, or willingness to develop with training.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with a willingness to share best practice.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver against Profit & Loss targets.
• Skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, customers, and colleagues, and able to work under pressure using own initiative.
