Full Job Description
This fixed-term (one-year) part-time (21 hours/ 0.57 FTE) post is part of the County Record Office's Public Service Team, which plays a key role in welcoming visitors and supporting access to Warwickshire's documentary heritage., We are looking for an archive trainee with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering a high-quality, welcoming public service. Working on a rota basis, you will contribute to a range of front-of-house and behind-the-scenes activities, including reception duties and document production.
You will also use a variety of IT applications to support the delivery of services, helping ensure that our historic records remain accessible and that visitors receive a positive and engaging experience.
Key Requirements
This role is based within a busy and demanding public service environment, and you will need the stamina to work at pace while maintaining a high standard of service. A reasonable level of physical fitness is required, as the role involves the regular handling, lifting, and carrying of documents-typically up to 10kg-from the strongrooms.
You will be expected to meet all the essential criteria outlined in the Person Specification. This position provides introductory experience for those interested in a career in archives or heritage.
