Full Job Description
Brentwood Borough Council is looking for a committed and knowledgeable Arboricultural Officer to help manage, enhance, and protect the borough's diverse tree stock across parks, open spaces, woodlands, housing assets, and conservation sites. If you're passionate about trees, enjoy working outdoors in varied landscapes, and can provide expert Arboricultural advice, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the local environment and community. As our Arboricultural Officer, you will:
- Carry out detailed tree inspections using VTI, QTRA, PTI and other recognised methodologies.
- Manage and update the Council's digital Tree Management System, including surveying,mapping and programming risk-based works.
- Provide professional advice on tree management, TPOs, Conservation Area notifications, and planning applications.
- Produce reports, assess risks, and create work programmes for trees across parks, open spaces, carparks and housing sites.
- Manage and monitor external contractors, ensuring compliance with RAMS, insurance and quality standards.
- Support enforcement of arboricultural conditions, high hedge legislation, and root damage investigations.
- Assist with woodland management and delivery of grant-funded environmental projects.
- Engage with residents, stakeholders and councillors, attending site meetings and responding to enquiries.
