Full Job Description
Working within the College's Apprenticeship department, the Apprenticeship Trainer-Electrical is responsible for teaching, training and assessing a caseload of apprentices within the Installation and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship standard. The Apprenticeship Trainer will ensure that all apprentices make strong, timely progress through their programme by delivering high-quality teaching and learning, completing regular progress reviews with apprentices and their employers, and monitoring Off-The-Job (OTJ) training hours to ensure full compliance with apprenticeship funding rules. Key responsibilities.
- Plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for apprenticeship standards, ensuring all sessions meet college standards and awarding body/Awarding Organisation (AO) requirements.
- Deliver training using a range of engaging and effective methods, adapting approaches to meet the individual needs, prior learning and experience of each apprentice.
- Use progress reviews to monitor and evidence each apprentice's development against the KSBs of their standard, identifying any gaps and agreeing actions to address them., The College has a strong commitment to working towards the implementation of equality of opportunity in both service delivery and employment. - A recognised Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or higher).
- Industry experience within the electrical sector, with current knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Assessors and/or IQA qualification (desirable).
- Experience delivering Electrical Installation level 3 qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the current apprenticeship standard and EPA requirements.
- Experience of managing learner progress, attendance and achievement.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within the electrical industry.
- Good organisational and IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and virtual learning platforms.
