Introduction
A Level 3 Light Vehicle apprenticeship combines full-time, paid employment with formal training. Typically, lasting 36 months, it trains you to service, diagnose, and repair cars and vans. You will master advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, and learn how to use specialist diagnostic equipment to solve complex faults.
About the Employer
Car Servicing & Repairs at Autobarn Motorworks in Checkley, near Nantwich
Autobarn Motorworks is a team of dedicated German vehicle specialists in Cheshire, providing expert care for Audi, VW, SEAT, Skoda, and selected VW campervans.
Based in Checkley, near Nantwich, just off the A51, we deliver manufacturer-level servicing and repairs without the cost or impersonal experience of a main dealership workshop. With advanced diagnostics, a modern workshop, and a strong focus on clear communication, we offer a trusted, specialist service to drivers across Nantwich, Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent, and the surrounding areas.
What You'll Do
As an apprentice mechanic's daily routine mixes hands-on vehicle maintenance with workshop upkeep and shadowing senior technicians. Tasks scale from basic servicing and cleaning in the early months to assisting with advanced electrical diagnostics and MOT preparations as skills develop over the training period.
Training Outcome
Completing a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship qualifies you as a fully-fledged Vehicle Technician. Expected career progression moves from Core Technician roles into Diagnostics, Specialist Vehicles, or Workshop Management.
