At Copperclay mews we are looking for engaging and positive Apprentice Support Workers to join our team to support adults with learning disabilities and intensive specialist support needs, along side this great career opportunity you will study your NVQ level 2 in Health and social care along side York College. As an Apprentice Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more independent, dignified and happy life. We are looking for forward thinkers who are able to offer new ideas on how to develop a person's opportunities and skills ranging from developing their own garden to cooking nutritious and different meals. Not all support work will take place within the homes of the people we support. There will be lots of opportunities to access the local community and engage with the interests of the people you support. The people we support all have different interests and therefore we are looking for flexible and open minded support workers to support with activities such as walking, days out to the cinema or visits to the seaside to name a few. On a daily basis you will have a strong support network from the management team at Copperclay Mews. We are a proactive team and work in partnership to ensure the best support for colleagues is provided, so don't worry if you are new to care, there is always someone you can turn to. Training An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. Initial training of 2 and a half weeks Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm - thereafter ongoing training in conjunction with York college. We will require you to be available for full shifts due to minimal public transport in the area.

- Patience Candidates need to be 18 or over. Apprenticeship Eligibility: an individual must have been resident/settled in the UK for the previous 3 years (not for the purposes of education/on a student visa) and must have permission to live and work in the UK for the duration of their apprenticeship (if you are on a visa it must not be for education purposes only).

You don't need to have experience but it is essential that you share our values. As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those we support, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us. Our excellent training team will support you to become a qualified Support Worker, which could see you on your journey to a career in care.,
