About the Employer
Transense Technologies plc. has two divisions that develop and supply world-leading sensor technology and measurement solutions:
SAWsense, proven Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) sensor technology and solutions, used in demanding applications to accurately and reliably measure torque, temperature, force, and pressure to improve performance, efficiency, and safety.
Translogik, tyre inspection and data capture tools, used by the world's leading fleet managers, tyre suppliers, and service centres to rapidly and accurately capture and digitalise safety-critical tyre condition data, that can then be used to reduce operating costs and improve safety.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
As an Apprentice Production Technician your primary focus will be to learn and develop your technical skills whilst supporting the Production team. You will be expected to attend a college for two days a week to gain recognised qualification as part of the apprentice programme.
The expectation is the successful Apprentice will become a full-time employee of the company in a Production Technician role.
It would be advantageous to have means of transport to enable attendance at both the Transense facility and Abingdon and Witney College.
Under the guidance and supervision of experienced staff, your responsibilities will include:
- Assembly & Electronics:- Learning and assisting in the assembly of SAW sensors and associated electronics
- Testing & Verification:- Performing testing and electrical verification of sensor assemblies under direct supervision
- Calibration Support:- Providing hands-on support for calibration and production testing as you learn the standard operating procedures
- Lean Manufacturing:- Gaining an understanding of and assisting the team in the implementation of a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Quality Control:- Helping senior staff with the inspection and acceptance of incoming product
- Logistics:- Assisting with the packaging and shipping of Transense Product
- Cross-Training:- Assisting Translogik assembly where required to broaden your manufacturing skill set
- Process Innovation:- Shadowing the team to support the development of new manufacturing processes
- Continuous Improvement:- Observing and providing support to develop and improve current manufacturing processes

The expectation is the successful apprentice will become a full-time employee of the company in a Production Technician role.
