Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant

Introduction

We are seeking to recruit a new member to join our pharmacy family in our innovative small team of qualified professionals as an apprentice Pharmacy Assistant. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full-time employment and progress to a higher-level qualification.

About the Employer

The pharmacy is in a large shopping centre in the heart of Middlesborough. We dispense NHS prescriptions and sell a range of over-the-counter medicines. The pharmacy provides services such as the NHS New Medicines Service and repeat dispensing. We also deliver medicines to people's homes.

What You'll Do

• Dispensing of medication to patients
• Over-the-counter sales of non-prescription medication
• Check and monitor prescription slips Health & safety responsibility
• Rotation of stock
• Use of Patient Record Systems and use of smart card
• Data entry relating to medication
• Labelling and dispensing
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Working within a team environment
• Liaison with doctors, surgery and health professionals
• Completion of apprenticeship work on time

Training Outcome

• Pharmacy Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship
• A potentially permanent position within the organisation
