Introduction
Join our friendly team at Chuggers Day Nursery & Preschool in Taunton and start your career in childcare. You’ll support children’s learning and development while completing a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years apprenticeship with one-to-one coaching, workplace learning and online study.

Tell us a little about your setting — what you do, your values, and what makes you unique - Chuggers Day Nursery and Preschool is a family run setting in Taunton, that provides exceptional standards of childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Chuggers also run a holiday club for children between the ages of 5 to 8 years. Here at Chuggers we aim to provide an environment that will encourage children to develop into happy, confident, individuals. We foster our child's natural curiosity, sense of awe and wonder, enthusiasm to learn, and encourage the children to explore and investigate a range of resources and materials using all of their senses. We work closely with our sister setting, Choo Choos Day Nursery, to share good practice and support children's learning and development. We offer a nurturing experience in a beautiful, warm and traditional environment. The nursery offers great facilities and promotes outdoor learning, following the Curiosity Approach.
What You'll Do
- Support children’s learning, play and development
- Help set up and run engaging activities indoors and outdoors
- Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene and rest
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Observe children’s progress and contribute to planning
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment
- Learn and apply safeguarding, health and safety practices
- Take part in team meetings and training sessions
Training Outcome
This apprenticeship provides a pathway into long‑term Early Years careers, including Early Years Educator, Room Lead, Senior Practitioner, and further progression through Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications.
