Apprentice Laboratory and Facilities Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Laboratory and Facilities Assistant in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVMed), within the Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM). As Apprentice Laboratory and Facilities Assistant, you will work across CVMed to assist Laboratory/Operations Managers and Facilities Teams in the safe and smooth running of the department's scientific and clinical research areas. Your responsibilities will include following relevant Health and Safety procedures to maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment within laboratories, in addition to conducting regular visual inspections and reporting identified faults and hazards. The Apprentice Laboratory and Facilities Assistant will also hold a crucial role in assisting with safety inspections, fire alarm tests, and evacuation drills. About the apprenticeship As part of this role, you will undertake a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with CSR Scientific Training. For this apprenticeship, you will work at the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. This role is based on the John Radcliffe Hospital site, with duties occasionally being undertaken at the Centre for Human Genetics on the Old Road Campus. The majority of your apprenticeship learning will be completed online once a week. In total, it will take 2 years to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout. To complete the level 3 apprenticeship you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A

• -C in GCSE Maths, English and a science subject (or equivalent qualifications).

There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.
