Apprentice IT Technician

You will complete the IT Solutions Technician Level 3 apprenticeship over 21 months, including work and training, with designated time provided to complete your apprenticeship training. Training will be delivered by Ginger Nut through a remote, blended learning model, including:

• One-to-one tutor sessions every four weeks, alongside group sessions, webinars, online courses and video resources.
• Additional support where required.
• An allocated tutor to guide you through your training, conduct regular meetings and help you prepare for your End Point Assessment.
• Support from tutors who are industry experts with relevant professional experience, alongside teaching and coaching expertise.
• Online resources mapped to your apprenticeship, including access to LinkedIn Learning and other bespoke learning channels.
You will gain a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification while developing valuable workplace skills. What the role involves Working with the IT team, you will:
• Provide a point of contact for staff and students requiring IT support.
• Support the day-to-day running of the Academy's IT and Reprographics Help Desk.
• Assess incoming support requests, resolve issues within your capabilities and refer others to the appropriate team member.
• Monitor the progress of support requests, ensuring issues are resolved promptly or escalated where necessary.
• Liaise with external suppliers to help coordinate additional technical support.
• Contribute to improvements in IT services and help develop and deliver internal service standards.
• Follow Academy policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety.
  
  We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice IT Technician to join our IT team. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will gain practical experience supporting staff and students with their IT needs while working towards a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour, depending on age and stage of apprenticeship. Pay will be in line with the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage:
• Under 19, or aged 19 and over in the first year of the apprenticeship: £8.00 per hour.
• Aged 19-20, after completing the first year: £10.85 per hour.
• Aged 21 and over, after completing the first year: £12.71 per hour.
