Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice Heavy Vehicle Technician. This is a three-year apprenticeship which will give you hands-on experience maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including waste collection and street cleansing vehicles, while working towards an industry-recognised Level 3 qualification.
About the Employer
Working for the local council, Canterbury County Council.
What You'll Do
Working alongside our team of Heavy Vehicle Mechanics you will learn from your mentor how to carry out:
- Maintenance and repair of waste collection, street cleansing and ancillary service vehicles and equipment to meet current legislation, health, and safety standards and DVSA standards
- Receive hands-on training in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Work on a diverse fleet of specialist vehicles
- Learn from experienced HGV Mechanics in a modern workshop
Training Outcome
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity for a permanent role.
