What You'll Do

You'll be joining an award-winning apprenticeship programme with a track record of developing apprentices into highly skilled engineers. If you're curious about how things work, enjoy practical problem-solving, and want a career with real progression opportunities, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. What will the apprentice be doing? As part of the production team at Wolverton Works, you'll receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced engineers who will support and mentor you throughout your apprenticeship.

Your duties will include:

  • Installing and maintaining electrical systems on railway vehicles
  • Testing and inspecting electrical equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults
  • Learning how to use specialist engineering tools and equipment
  • Supporting maintenance and refurbishment projects
  • Following strict health and safety procedures
  • Attending college on day release to develop your technical knowledge
  • Building a portfolio of evidence showcasing your skills and progress

Every day is different, and you'll be involved in real engineering work that helps keep the UK's rail network running safely and efficiently.

Working Week: Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, and Friday, 7:00am to 12:00pm.
