What You'll Do

Are you looking for a hands-on career with excellent earning potential and long-term progression opportunities? Burgess Electrical Services is seeking a motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced electricians, gain industry-recognised qualifications and develop the practical skills needed to become a fully qualified electrician. We are proud to have been named Electrical Contractor of the Year 2025, and one of our apprentices recently won Electrical Contractors News Apprentice of the Year. We are passionate about investing in the next generation of skilled electricians and providing a supportive environment where apprentices can thrive. Working on commercial and industrial projects, you'll gain experience from project conception through to completion while attending Milton Keynes College to complete your qualifications. Duties will include:

  • Assisting with the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Installing switches, containment, conduits, outlets and other electrical equipment
  • Using power tools, testing equipment and construction equipment safely
  • Learning to test, inspect and diagnose electrical faults
  • Supporting commissioning and installation projects
  • Working alongside a variety of skilled trades on construction sites
  • Communicating progress, issues and risks to your mentor and supervisors
  • Following health and safety procedures and wearing the appropriate PPE
  • Attending Milton Keynes College to develop your practical and theory knowledge What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have some electrical experience through a course or practical work experience, be reliable and hardworking, work well as part of a team, communicate effectively, and have a positive attitude towards learning. You'll need good attention to detail, and professional approach.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a genuine interest in becoming a qualified electrician and developing their skills throughout the apprenticeship.

Training Outcome

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you may be offered a permanent role in an established electrical installation company. You will be given further development opportunities to enable career progression within Burgess Electrical Services Limited.
