Introduction
Join Lancaster City Council as an Apprentice Electrician and play a vital role in maintaining and improving electrical systems across council-owned properties. Your work will ensure safety, compliance, and high service standards in public buildings, markets, and cemeteries, directly supporting the wellbeing of our community.

What You'll Do
You’ll carry out diagnostic, installation, and maintenance electrical tasks with growing independence, following strict safety protocols. Working alongside repairs teams and subcontractors, you’ll manage stock levels, complete Portable Appliance Testing, and use electronic systems to track your work. Your role includes a 4-year NVQ apprenticeship at Lancaster & Morecambe College, with 20% of your time dedicated to study.
Training Outcome
On completion of the apprenticeship the post holder will be considered for a permanent Electrician role.
