Introduction
At Mitie, we believe exceptional things happen when places are cared for. As the UK’s No.16 Top Apprenticeship Employer, we’re shaping futures by shaping environments; empowering people, strengthening communities and helping society thrive. Ready to start making places work better every day?
About the Employer
At Mitie, we’re the UK’s leading facilities management and professional services company. We deliver critical services that power businesses, communities, and individuals across the nation. Rock Power Connections are proud to be part of Mitie designing and building electrical infrastructure solutions across the UK, bringing high voltage power to the places it’s needed.
What You'll Do
As part of our team, you'll be based within the Cumbria Consortium, supporting one of the UK's largest and most significant integrated facilities management partnerships. Mitie delivers facilities management services across multiple sites within the Consortium, including Sellafield Ltd, Europe's largest nuclear site.
Mitie has worked in partnership with Sellafield since 2003, with the relationship growing over the years into a full integrated facilities management contract covering engineering, cleaning, security, waste management, grounds maintenance, catering and projects. Today, hundreds of Mitie colleagues support the operation of sites across Cumbria and Warrington.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience within a complex and highly regulated environment. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, developing the skills, behaviours and knowledge needed to maintain essential systems and infrastructure that support critical national operations.
As an Apprentice Electrical Engineer at Mitie, you'll be at the heart of what we do, making a real impact from day one. Here's a glimpse of what your journey could include:
- Developing the skills and technical knowledge required to inspect, test, fault find, maintain and repair electrical equipment and systems
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance activities and responding to electrical maintenance requirements across site
- Learning how to safely use electrical drawings, schematics, testing equipment and technical documentation
- Working alongside experienced electricians and engineers to gain practical, hands-on experience in a live operational environment
- Helping to diagnose faults, support repairs and contribute to the reliability and performance of critical electrical infrastructure
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards, making safety and sustainability a priority in every task
Training Outcome
Whether you're stepping into your first job or looking to change your career, our apprenticeships are your ticket to learning, earning, and achieving. With us, you'll gain nationally recognised qualifications, real-world experience, and a competitive salary - all while being part of a company that truly cares about its people and the planet.
