Full Job Description

This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with children, and wants to build a meaningful career in early years education. You don't need loads of experience - just the right attitude, a caring nature, and a willingness to learn. What You'll Be Doing From story time and messy play to helping children build confidence and friendships, no two days are the same. You will;

  • Help create a warm, safe, and happy environment
  • Support children with daily routines and activities
  • Work closely with colleagues to support the smooth running of the nursery
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and carers
  • Follow all nursery policies and procedures
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment
  • Attend college/training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme
  • Complete coursework and assignments within required timescales

  • Previous experience working with children (voluntary or paid)
  • Basic understanding of child development
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Personal Qualities

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Reliable, caring, and enthusiastic
  • Commitment to completing a Level 3 qualification

  • Training to be Provided Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
