Introduction
We're looking to recruit an apprentice to train as a CNC Operator, working within our plastics manufacturing facility in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in engineering and advanced manufacturing.

What You'll Do
- Operating 5 axis CNC routing machines
- Setting CNC machines for production
- Loading and selecting CNC programs
- Setting and changing cutting tools
- Setting fixtures and accurately positioning components
- Trimming and machining vacuum formed plastic components
- Understanding engineering drawings and dimensions
- Using measuring equipment to check finished components
- Carrying out first off and production quality checks
- Identifying and reporting machining or quality issues
- Understanding different plastic materials and how they machine
- Basic CNC machine maintenance and daily checks
- Safe working practices around CNC machinery
- Working with our CAD/CAM and production teams to understand how components progress from design through to manufacture
