The Role
Are you enthusiastic, motivated, well-organised and ready to embark on your initial working journey with Bolton Council? We are looking for someone eager to learn the trade and skills of an Engineer / Construction Professional and join us as an Apprentice. This role will involve learning the practical skills in all aspects of civil engineering and construction site supervision.
Our Apprentice Career Grade posts are designed to support and help you discover and enhance your unique skills and talents. Through hands on experience and personalised mentorship, you will gain the confidence and knowledge to excel in your chosen career path with us.
Don't worry about experience; we are recruiting on passion and drive. This is an entry-level role that is ideal for a college leaver or someone on a current Level 3 apprenticeship or qualification, aiming to kickstart their career with Bolton Council.
Whilst working towards the successful completion of your apprenticeship programme, you will learn on the job, providing high quality assistance with the management of the Authorities highways assets (Highways, structures, drainage and traffic management). You will rotate through the different teams to gain experience and knowledge in different engineering disciplines. Working alongside experienced colleagues, this role will involve the inspection, maintenance, design and supervision of bridges, highways, drainage and traffic management assets. You will gain experience through all aspects of asset management and project delivery; you will undertake feasibility studies, develop and prepare designs in accordance with national specifications and best practice, prepare contract documentation and undertake supervision of our contractors.
About You
We are searching for someone who is highly motivated with a desire to develop in this apprenticeship career grade role. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively both within a team and independently. You will have good time management and communication skills and real enthusiasm to learn.
If you are accurate and articulate with good communication skills, familiar with the use of Microsoft Office and are looking for an opportunity to make a difference, you might be just what we are looking for!
