Full Job Description

To develop the skills to allow independent practice, analyse, interpret & report a wide range of specialist tertiary cardiac procedures To develop the skills to support advanced specialist procedures as 2^nd operator under the supervision of a Specialist, Advanced or Expert practitioner Actively participates in practical & theoretical training & development within the field of Cardiac Physiology Complete BSc in Healthcare Cardiac Science and become an independent practioner

This is an apprenticeship over 3 years to support an individual to develop the skills and gain the relevant qualification to become a qualified Healthcare Scientist / Cardiac Physiologist. The individual will be supported to attend Manchester Metropolitan University and day release to complete a BSc in Healthcare Science which will be fully funded. This is initially a fixed term contract for the duration of the Apprenticeship programme. On successful completion of the apprenticeship qualification, the role will become permanent. To apply for this Apprenticeship role, you must meet the following apprenticeship eligibilitycriteria:

  • Have lived in the UK or the EEA for the last three years continuously
  • If working on a Visa, the remaining duration must cover the duration of the Apprenticeship.

    (ii) more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training:
  • 70% of the top of the band (iii) more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65% of the top of the band (iv) more than three years from completion of training: 60% of the top of the band Starting pay for any trainee / apprentice must be no less than the rate of the main (adult) rate of the National Minimum Wage.
  • Once the calculation has been agreed with the recruiting manager, the salary confirmation (% as per the earlier table) should be recorded on the conditional offer letter. The conditional offer letter should also stipulate the consequences of the training not being achieved within the allotted timescales if the qualification is an essential requirement of the role, as this could result in dismissal. This information should also be replicated in the contract of employment.
