Introduction
PP Profiles have an exciting apprenticeship opportunity, working with the latest cutting-edge CAD systems, the role will include some days on the shop floor understanding the process.
About the Employer
P.P. Profiles Ltd began life in the basement of a cotton mill in Walkden, Greater Manchester, in 1976. Following two successful years of trading, P.P. Profiles (West Yorkshire) Ltd was set up in 1978, moving sites twice before settling in Batley where we still operate from our 70,000 sq foot site today.
We quickly built a reputation as a reliable supplier of profiled carbon steel to the engineering industry and in 1986 began providing cutting solutions for stainless steel using plasma technology.
Together, we combine our pioneering technology in profiling and post-cutting services to provide the best “one stop” steel service available. Our highly trained and motivated staff enable us to deliver a truly exceptional service to our customers.

What You'll Do
Examples of day-to-day duties may include:
- Produce and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support customer and manufacturing requirements
- Assist with the development of technical designs, product specifications, and engineering documentation
- Create and maintain bills of materials, drawing revisions, and production records
- Work alongside engineers and designers on live projects and product improvements
- Gain an understanding of manufacturing processes by spending time on the shop floor
- Support quality inspections and measure products against engineering drawings and specifications
- Assist with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures
- Communicate effectively with office and production teams to ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently
- Develop knowledge of the complete process from design and manufacture through to final product delivery
How you will be supported
Full training and support will be provided by our well experienced staff and assessment staff at The Growth Company. A comprehensive training program has been developed by The PP Group of Companies where you will be learning to operate the machinery relevant to your role.
