Apprentice Building Services Engineer

Introduction

Building and Services maintains the theatre, restaurants and public areas, production departments and offices. We are looking for an Apprentice Building Services Engineer to join our small, motivated maintenance team taking the electrical pathway as you work towards the Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

About the Employer

The Glyndebourne Festival (running from May to August), features a programme of six operas in its 1,200-seat opera house, attracting audiences from around the world. What You'll Do

As an apprentice, you will learn:

• To assist in the preparation and implementation of planned maintenance routines, report on effectiveness of those routines and make recommendations to improve practices
• To report on any plant/equipment/installations deterioration and recommend required action
• To be proactive in support of sustainability and energy saving initiatives
• Accurately complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) to agreed and specified timescales and write reports as required. To carry out PPMs when requested, inside or outside of opening times. To progress PPMs and ensure the completed reports are returned in an efficient manner
• Carry out reactive mechanical / electrical works and day to day engineering duties as specified by your manager/supervisor ensuring plant & equipment are maintained at appropriate times to suit the business
• To work with Glyndebourne's Maintenance/Asset management System. This is a software based system used for the recording and submission of planned and reactive maintenance
• To provide Building Services cover in the event of an emergency, and to respond to emergency situations in accordance with Glyndebourne's emergency procedures

• Essential - GCSE - English, Maths - 4/5 C or above
