Full Job Description
Working within the Divisional Support Unit, Operational Support teams are responsible for supporting frontline colleagues, aligned to the Inspection, Investigation and Specialist Divisions, responsible for operational delivery across a range of industries including Manufacturing, Construction and Agriculture. You will contribute to the yearly delivery plan through a range of established and developing internal processes and procedures. The role involves triaging potential visits, for which you will create inspection packages for use by regulating teams, processing gas cases, preparing litigation files, and the triage of RIDDORS. You will be proactive in self-development and collaboration within your teams and across the cross-divisional network, with an ability and passion to deliver at pace.
You will also complete a Business Administration Level 3 as part of your employment with us.
Please be advised that due to the course requirements, part-time hours are not available for these positions during the duration of the apprenticeship., You will contribute to the delivery of HSE's Strategy and plan of work by undertaking a range of business support tasks and processes, in direct support of both front line and other HSE staff, including providing support to other parts of HSE, on both a local and national basis. You will do this by:
+ Providing a sound administrative support to your wider team to meet business objectives, this can vary from responding to urgent queries in a timely manner, or managing inboxes.
+ Working with and learning new division-relevant systems and programmes ranging from Microsoft Packages to bespoke internal systems.
+ Providing assistance to your colleagues on any projects and work activities.
+ Overseeing compliance in regards to any data entry/management such as updating and handling sensitive records and information.
+ Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including inspectors and the public when required.
+ Where required (and following any relevant training or coaching) B6 staff will undertake administrative tasks and functions in support of other parts of HSE, both locally and nationally (whether on a geographical, directorate or divisional basis)
+ Developing an awareness and knowledge of HSE's work and organisation, remaining abreast of changes to procedures and guidance and your role in response to personal development and business needs, responding positively and flexibly to changes.

Interview Information
Interviews will take from week commencing 11th August onwards. This is a blended interview consisting of
Strengths and Behaviours.

Existing Civil Servants and applicants from accredited NDPBs are eligible to apply but will only be considered on loan basis (Civil Servants) or secondment (accredited NDPBs). Prior agreement to be released on a loan basis must be obtained before commencing the application process. Apprenticeship Information
This is a development role so to be eligible to apply, the training and development you receive must provide you with significant new skills and learning. This is an essential requirement for apprenticeship funding and means you must not already hold a similar or higher qualification, be working towards a similar or higher qualification, or be significantly experienced in the Business/Business Management/Business Administration modules.
If you hold a similar or higher qualification or are currently working towards a similar or higher qualification in the Business/Business Management/Business Administration modules, any offer of employment will be withdrawn.
In addition you must:
+ Be aged 16 or over (there is no upper age limit).
+ Have the right to work in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the UK/EU/EA for 3 consecutive years before starting the apprenticeship.
For candidates aged 19 and over: for this programme, Business Administrator Level 3, in line with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) HSE has agreed that it is a learner-led decision to complete Functional Skills (Level 2 Maths and English). This means that if you cannot evidence you have this already, you now have the option to complete the Functional Skills or opt-out if you prefer. We wish to encourage learners to continue with Functional Skills, especially if you feel it would be beneficial in improving your literacy or numeracy skills or it may be helpful for your future career ambitions to have an English and Maths qualification but for this pathway it is not mandatory.
For candidates aged 16-18: you will be required to provide evidence of a level 2 equivalent qualification in Maths and English (i.e., GCSE Grade A-C). If you do not hold or are unable to provide evidence of this, you will be required to undertake Functional Skills exams (Level 2 Maths and English) as part of the apprenticeship programme.
