Introduction

Apprentice Accounts Assistant is a full-time role in a close-knit finance team of three. You'll support day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, purchase and sales invoice processing, expense approvals, and managing the shared finance inbox. As your experience grows you'll assist with accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.

What You'll Do

  • Shared ownership of the purchase ledger• Shared ownership of the purchase ledger
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts in Xero
  • Preparation of supplier batch payments 
  • Monitor the internal purchase order tracker
  • Process employee credit card and cash expenses
  • Manage supplier invoice queries
  • Support with monthly reconciliation of consultancy revenue (delivered v billed)
  • Raise sales invoices during busy periods
  • Cash allocation of incoming receipts
  • Credit control activity
  • Assist the Accounts Assistant with month end management account reconciliation
  • Assist the Finance Manager with month end/year end accounts

Working Arrangements

Working Week: This hybrid role is based in Kidlington, with office attendance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (9.00am - 5.00pm). Mondays are college study days. Thursdays and Fridays are remote, except the last Friday of each month which is office-based for business briefings.

Expected Duration: 1 Year 1 Month
