As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced tradespeople carrying out refurbishment work in customers' homes. The focus of the role is delivering high-quality internal and external painting works in customers' homes. During your apprenticeship, you will:

• Achieve a Level 2 Painting & Decorating qualification
• Develop into a qualified painter specialising on decent homes
What You'll Learn
• Work Methods - Understand the purpose of a range of equipment & tools and how to use, store and maintain them safely and the reaction of materials to atmospheric conditions
• Product & Specifications - Gain expert knowledge of product types, drying, curing, effects of colour, interpreting specifications and colour choices
• Preparation & Removal - Learn preparation methods both traditional and modern, techniques of application, removal, wallpaper hanging and identifying substrates
• Health & Safety - To learn the principles of health, safety and welfare and how these are applied in the workplace including handling hazardous substances
• Team work - The role will give the skills and abilities to not only be part of a team but to play an active role within a busy team.
• Stakeholder Management - Developing and maintaining relationships with Managers, Colleagues and Customers
  
  We're looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and develop in a hands-on role.
Ideally, you will have: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4-9 / A
• - C), although this is not essential
More importantly, you will:
• Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Be willing to learn and take on new challenges
• Enjoy practical, physical work
• Be a reliable team player
Please note: This apprenticeship is not suitable for candidates who already hold (or are studying towards) a Level 2 qualification in painting. A DBS check will also be required.
