Full Job Description
We are recruiting for an Animal Care Technician! Based at our Field Station in Wytham, you will be working in a team with four experienced animal technicians and three facilities staff. Our Field Station houses several animal populations including birds, fish and insects. Your focus as a Grade 4 technician is the day-to-day care of the animals, focusing on fish, to include supplying adequate levels of food and water along with cleaning the animals' housing.
You will be expected to be able to communicate effectively with both colleagues and scientists alike, and attention to detail is essential. Ability to work within a team is necessary but you will also be able to work independently with minimal supervision, which includes being able to organise your own allocated workload on a day to day basis. Dedication to animal welfare is essential as will be your ability to assess the condition of the animal during the daily health checks.
