Full Job Description
We are recruiting for two Senior Analysts to join our team, The Impact and Value Hub within Justice Digital, Data and Science and the Service Transformation Group. The Service Transformation Group (STG) brings together Digital, Data, AI, security and transformation capabilities to improve services and outcomes across the Justice System. Justice Data enables better decision-making by sourcing, linking and improving data so that trusted, accessible and actionable insight can support leaders, policy makers and frontline services. The Impact and Value Hub deliver high priority evaluation and economic analysis that strengthens decision-making and ensures value for money across Justice Data. By helping teams understand and demonstrate the value of investing in data, we support Justice Data in securing the right resources and showing how improved data capability leads to better outcomes. Using robust methodologies, tailored guidance, and close collaboration with partners across MoJ and wider government, we increase confidence in planning and effective delivery. By embedding early, proportionate evaluation, the Hub reduces risk, increases transparency, and enhances the credibility and impact of the Directorate's work. This post will support the development of robust socio-economic evaluations of programs across the Data Directorate, Justice Digital and the Science Office. The role involves understanding evolving analytical needs of teams across the directorate and influencing them, so they support and champion evaluation. The engagement of policy and operational delivery colleagues is also essential. The successful analyst will play a key role in developing monetisation techniques for benefits and costs of services, ensuring that the output and programs are fit for purpose. Additionally, these roles require analysts who can deliver multiple projects at pace, can own large portfolios of work and are comfortable with ambiguity.,
- Providing expertise on evaluation and monitoring.
- Scoping out projects efficiently to design robust monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Leading on and executing those monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Conducting bespoke novel research and analysis to support evaluation where evidence is thin.

This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone's circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review. For nationally advertised roles: All successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office nearest to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale. This will be at either a HQ building (subject to desk allocation, a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO) - See Map. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity). For current MoJ employees, your base location will need to be changed to the nearest viable office (to your home postcode), either at a HQ building, JCC or JSO within the National Office Network and moved its location's respective pay scale (any legacy arrangements/locations will need to be amended). Some of MoJ's terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. The national salary range is £42,914 - £46,182, London salary range is £49,325 - £53,081. Your salary will be dependent on your base location, Interviews: Interviews likely to take place from 18th September 2026 (dates are subject to change) Grade: SEO (MoJ candidates who are on a specialist grade, will be able to retain this grade on lateral transfer) Salary - : London: £47,657 - £52,040 plus potentially a £500 analyst allowance; National: £41,463 - £45,276 plus potentially a £1,500 analyst allowance., You'll receive a range of excellent benefits when you join our department, including:

- Existing Civil Servants moving on a level transfer will retain their current base salary or move to the minimum of the pay band for the role, whichever is higher.
- Existing Civil Servants who are promoted will either move to the bottom of the new grade's pay band or receive a 10% uplift, whichever provides the greater increase.
