Full Job Description
The team of 14 specialists has a focus on transactions in large scale commercial property, as well as on mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring transactions . We work for a range of different clients, including institutional and private equity funds, multi-national groups,UK listed companies and public sector. Your role will involve:
- Advising on the full range of transactions in UK securities and land, including UK and non-UK corporate structures, residential and commercial property;
- The work will be weighted to advisory and analysis, rather than computational work or other compliance;
- Preparation of information to support Stamp Taxes advice and the availability of reliefs, including review of legal documentation and of ownership structures;
- Working with the team on the analysis and interpretation of new legislation and case law; and
- Working alongside our wider tax teams at all levels.
Legal work experience (for example, as a paralegal or administrator) - A law degree or conversion course / equivalent (grade 2.1. or above)
- Some basic understanding of corporate structures
- No prior tax experience or qualification is essential
Stamp Taxes is part of our Financial Investors business. This comprises a dedicated team of 650 professionals, renowned for their agility and deep understanding of the needs of our financial investor clients and the dynamic markets in which they operate and invest. No previous experience of Stamp Taxes is required for this role but a legal background is essential as the role involves applying and building on knowledge of the laws of contract, property and equity.
