Full Job Description

In our continuous journey of growth and innovation at Carnival UK, we are seeking a Senior Analyst, Database Administrator to bring fresh insights and expertise to our technology department. This pivotal role will involve:

  • Provide subject matter expertise across database technologies for operational and project delivery purposes
  • Manage database security, risk, compliance, capacity, performance, monitoring, backups, replication, and relationships with external vendors.
  • Act as a senior escalation point, leading incident and problem investigation, root cause analysis, and technical improvement activities.
  • Lead the administration, support, maintenance, and continuous service improvement of database technologies across our shore and ship estate.
  • This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organisation and is available on a full-time, Fixed Term contract basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.


  • Experience supporting enterprise-level production databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database management systems.
  • Experience with ITIL and Change Management (ideally using ServiceNow) and password management (e.g. KeePass/Idira/Cyberark)
  • Familiar with database tools like SQL Plus, SQL Developer, SSMS and SSIS
  • Strong operational knowledge of database maintenance, performance tuning, optimisation, patching, capacity management, backups, and replication.
  • The ability to lead complex technical troubleshooting and provide clear guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. About You: The Ideal Candidate You are more than just your CV. You're someone who brings:
