Full Job Description
We are currently supporting a well-established and expanding freight forwarding organisation in the appointment of an Air Freight Import Coordinator to join their operations team. This position is suited to an individual with a solid understanding of air import procedures who is looking to further develop their expertise within a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. You will take ownership of shipments from origin through to final delivery, ensuring operational efficiency and a consistently high level of client service.,
- Coordinate international air freight import shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, overseas agents, and carriers
- Proactively monitor shipment progress, identifying and resolving any operational issues
- Prepare and review shipping documentation in line with regulatory requirements
- Liaise with customs agents to support clearance processes
- Manage job costing, accruals, and invoicing with a high degree of accuracy
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records within internal systems
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company procedures and compliance standards, Participation in a paid weekend rota (1 in 3) following successful completion of probation, supporting time-critical air freight movements
Demonstrable experience within air freight imports or freight forwarding operations - Working knowledge of UK import procedures and customs processes (CDS/CHIEF advantageous)
- Strong organisational capability with the ability to manage multiple shipments concurrently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Confident in the use of operational systems and Microsoft Office
- A proactive, professional, and solutions-focused approach
