The Finance Innovation & Transformations team drives meaningful improvements across eBay Finance by building scalable solutions that improve decision-making and operational efficiency. The team works on complex, often undefined problems using data, AI, and automation.
This role focuses on leading end-to-end transformation initiatives, from problem discovery through to production deployment. It involves working across Finance, Product, and Operations to deliver solutions that are practical, scalable, and widely adopted. You will operate in a fast-changing environment, balancing technical execution with stakeholder alignment while delivering measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Identify high-impact opportunities within fragmented or undefined processes and translate them into actionable solution roadmaps
- Deliver end-to-end AI, machine learning, and automation solutions from concept to production, driving measurable business outcomes
- Build scalable, reusable data frameworks and pipelines that improve efficiency and enable future innovation
- Work with large, complex datasets to develop practical solutions that balance speed, accuracy, and usability
- Embed solutions into business workflows to ensure adoption and sustained impact
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results
- Apply emerging AI and automation tools in ways that drive tangible business value
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end AI, machine learning, or data-driven solutions in large, complex organizations, from concept through to production and business adoption
- Strong technical skills in Python and SQL, including building data pipelines and working with large-scale datasets and distributed data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Hadoop or similar)
- Experience applying data science, machine learning, or data engineering approaches within data-intensive domains such as Finance or Operations
- Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau or Looker to support decision-making and insight generation
- Ability to translate complex, ambiguous problems into scalable, maintainable solutions, with sound judgment on simplicity versus sophistication
- Experience leading technical initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment in evolving environments
- Curiosity and adaptability, with experience exploring and applying emerging AI approaches (e.g., generative AI or large language models) to real-world business problems
