Full Job Description

This is an opportunity to join our Senior AHP Leadership as AHP Workforce Lead on a 12 month FTC maternity leave cover. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic leader who can build strong relationships, influence across professional boundaries, and deliver workforce projects successfully. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering workforce initiatives that support our AHP professions across the Trust. Working closely with senior leaders, professional leads, workforce teams, education providers, and regional partners, you will help ensure we continue to attract, develop and retain a skilled, inclusive, and sustainable AHP workforce., The AHP Workforce Lead will lead and co-ordinate workforce development initiatives across the Allied Health Professions within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. Working closely with AHP leaders, workforce colleagues, education providers, and regional partners, the post holder will support recruitment, apprenticeships, student placements, early careers programmes, and workforce development activities. The role will provide professional leadership on AHP workforce matters, oversee key workforce projects, support inclusive workforce practices, and contribute to the development of a sustainable, skilled, and engaged AHP workforce across the Trust. The post holder will provide effective line management and leadership to the AHP Workforce Team, supporting staff development, wellbeing, performance, and delivery of workforce programmes across the Trust.

  • Demonstrates understanding of professional AHP and corporate issues including governance and compliance
  • Ability to effectively promote equality opportunity and good working relationships in employment and service delivery.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of AHP workforce development, challenges, recovery and growth
  • Knowledge of workforce data sources and how to use them to devise and draft policies
  • Good understanding of the wider health economy, local and national priorities, and initiatives, Evidence of postgraduate professional development in a relevant area of practice.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience, skills and knowledge demonstrable, Project management qualification/experience
  • Ability to work effectively between strategic and operational activities where required, Evidence of delivery and development of services and holding others to account
  • Experience in leading a change initiative
  • Experience of motivating and inspiring staff to work together to achieve a common objective.
  • Experience of delivering presentations to a range of audiences both internal and external
  • Extensive significant experience, within the NHS, Substantial Experience of operating in and delivering priorities in a partnership environment
  • Ability to work effectively between strategic and operational activities where required
