Full Job Description

Overview Join to apply for the Agriculture Manager role at Marks and Spencer. We're reshaping our Food business to broaden its appeal, protecting the magic our customers love while modernising everything else. That means outstanding quality, high sourcing standards, and market-leading innovation remain at our core, while we transform our supply chains, improve our stores, and deliver better value. We're looking for motivated people ready to bring their whole self to work and thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious team. After all, this isn't just food... this is M&S Food. As Agriculture Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering the agricultural strategy for M&S Food, supporting our commitment to British farming and sustainable food production. You'll work with our farming supply base, government regulators, NGOs, and industry groups to protect and enhance the M&S brand. This is a role for someone who thrives on innovation, is passionate about sustainable sourcing, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the food industry. You'll join a close-knit, expert team that values collaboration, learning, and support. Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible. What You'll Do

  • Set and maintain production standards for agriculture protein raw materials, ensuring safe and legal procurement across the M&S Food Group.
  • Deliver agricultural innovation and supply chain development, ensuring all activities align with M&S brand values and create meaningful points of difference.
  • Provide technical direction on raw material sourcing, collaborating with commercial and technical teams to drive category growth and uphold standards.
  • Advise the business on supply security issues, coordinate contingency and crisis responses, and deliver on Agriculture Plan A Commitments.
  • Collaborate with PR and Marketing to communicate M&S's approach to sustainable sourcing, building a trusted and brand-enhancing profile with our supply network and the wider agricultural community.
  • Who You Are
  • You'll have a formal agricultural qualification (HND Agriculture as a minimum) and hands-on experience in livestock production.
  • You will bring a track record of delivering projects with pace in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement with suppliers, farmers, and industry bodies.
  • Empathy for agricultural producers and a genuine understanding of agricultural production, customer needs, and brand values.
  • Insight into the raw material supply landscape and its impact on business strategy, margin, and profit, with integrity and accountability.
  • What's in it for you? Working at M&S means being part of something bigger-delivering quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We're inclusive, fast-moving and evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.
  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household (after probation)
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to performance
  • Strong pension and life assurance
  • Tailored induction and training
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services
  • One paid volunteer day per year
