The Governing Body of Churchdown Parton Manor Schools Federation wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised playworker to work at our popular After School Club. You will need to be passionate about providing stimulating, age related play opportunities for our children and be able to work within a team after school hours.

Person Specification

Essential skills/qualities:

  • Experience working with children
  • A positive, creative attitude towards children
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding
  • An awareness of basic health and safety issues

Desirable skills/qualities:

  • Experience of working in a play setting with children aged 4-11
  • Playwork or equivalent qualification level 2 or above
  • First aid qualification
  • Food hygiene level 2

We can offer a supportive working environment and an enthusiastic team. You will need the ability to work under direction and on your own to provide general supervisory support and be a good role model for our pupils.

Previous experience as a playworker is not essential, but the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake suitable training as required, be able to think on their feet and interact well with children.

Hours: 3-6pm 5 days per week term time only
