Abbott Community Primary School is an Outstanding School in the hub of the local community. High aspirations coupled with collaborative, positive relationships between all our stakeholders, are the key to our success.

The Governing Body wish to appoint two dedicated and hardworking Play Workers to start on Monday 22nd June 2026. About the Candidate The successful candidate will be a strong team player, who is passionate and motivated about children's learning and will be committed to the positive ethos of the school. You will have:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Practical knowledge of child development and child related issues.
  • An awareness of the play principles.
  • Experience of working with children and parents, and planning, initiating, organising and developing play.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with others involved in working with children across the whole age range of centre users.
  • Ability and willingness to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures.
  • To communicate in a helpful and sensitive manner with children and adults.
  • Ability to identify and meet children's needs both individually and within a group.
  • The ability to record information accurately.
  • Willingness to abide by the City Council's 'No Smoking', 'Harassment at Work', 'Equal Opportunities' and other policies.
  • Team working skills.
