After School Club Assistant

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable After School Club Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will help provide high-quality care and supervision for children attending the After School Club, ensuring their safety, welfare and enjoyment at all times.,

• Supervising children aged 2-11 years during After School Club sessions.
• Supporting a range of age-appropriate play, creative and recreational activities.
• Assisting with the preparation and serving of snacks and refreshments.
• Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring children feel happy, safe and included.
• Following safeguarding, health and safety, food hygiene and school policies.
• Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and individual needs.
• Helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Assisting with setting up and clearing away equipment and resources.
  
  Enjoys working with children and understands their developmental needs.
• Is warm, caring and patient.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can work effectively as part of a team.
• Is able to use initiative and respond calmly to changing situations.
• Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Supports the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
Essential Requirements
• Experience of working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting.
• Good standards of literacy and numeracy.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team.
Desirable Requirements
• Relevant childcare qualification (Level 2 or 3).
• Paediatric First Aid training.
• Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience of working with children across a wide age range.
