Full Job Description

As an Apprentice Engineer the type of placements you will undertake may include:

  • Architecture and Integration;
  • Design (for Wing structures and/or systems installation);
  • Simulation;
  • Analysis (Static Stress and Fatigue & Damage Tolerance);
  • Systems Installation Safety Analysis;
  • Research and Technology;
  • Certification;
  • Ground and Flight Test;
  • In Service Support;
  • Digital (e.g. coding, AI, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Optimization, Methods and tools);
  • Materials, Processes and Test;
  • Wing Structures Repairs.
  • You will also develop the following:
  • Project Management through placements in Chief Engineers or other departments;
  • Business and Financial knowledge;
  • Leadership Skills through working on projects with a broad range of people.

    In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:
  • 112 UCAS points or above: 3 A Levels BBC or above which must include Maths at B or above AND Physics or Chemistry at C or above, with a further A-level/AS-Level/BTEC Diploma;
  • OR
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: Aeronautical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing in Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering, Land-based Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations and Maintenance Engineering - minimum grade DMM or D (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering);
  • OR
  • T Levels - Minimum of Merit overall in Engineering and Manufacturing, additional qualification in Maths at Level 3 preferable but not essential;
  • AND
  • GCSE Maths and English (Language and Literature) - Minimum of Grade 5/B., Natural curiosity and excitement to explore and to work in a dynamic and changing environment;
  • Ability to manage problems and communicate effectively to resolve them in a fast paced environment;
  • Passion about Aerospace and shaping the sustainable future of the civil aircraft market., This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

  • Your journey begins with a nine-month vocational foundation diploma. Afterward, you'll join our experts at Filton, diving into real engineering work on our Commercial Aircraft Programmes. You'll be assigned to a department with incredible career potential, including:

  • Fuel & Inerting Systems;
  • Flight Physics.
