Full Job Description
Are you compassionate, organised, and looking to make a real difference in people's lives? Do you have experience of working or volunteering in welfare, support or health and social care and are looking for a new challenge?
What does the job involve:
- Travel to locations such as hospitals and care homes around Sutton, Croydon, Surrey, Bexley and Bromley.
- Supporting people to speak up, helping them to understand information, ensuring their wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs and values are considered.
- Check and challenge Local Authorities and/or professionals as appropriate to ensure they are acting in the best interest of the client.
- Compassionate communication - you'll engage with people from all walks of life, from care home residents to staff to social services, ensuring that the client's voice is heard.
- Promote empowerment.
- Raise safeguarding concerns.
- Work in accordance with relevant legislation such as Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, Care Act, DoLS and Human Rights Act.
- Monitoring and reporting - following a checklist, you will write and submit detailed reports to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) team.
To be willing to study for an IAQ qualification (including any specialist unit) and be able to obtain within 12 months of commencing employment.
- Previous experience of working as an Advocate / working with a diverse range of vulnerable people.
- Kindness, compassion, good communication skills and the ability to connect with others.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing, verbally and nonverbally, using a range of communication tools and methods.
- IT skills - a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, databases and other relevant technology.
- Strong organisational skills.
- A valid driver's license and car as this role involves travel to clients.
A starting salary of £25,012.00 per annum for a 37-hour week or part-time equivalent.

Hours and Location:
- They are looking for people who can work up to 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday).
