Advanced Specialist Podiatrist Developmental Post

CSH Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Podiatrist to join our Adult Services team in a developmental role, transitioning from a Band 6 to Band 7, over a period of time.This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Podiatrist with strong foundations in clinical practice who wishes to progress into a senior Band 7 position through a structured competency-based development programme. The postholder will work within community podiatry services delivering high-quality care to patients with a range of foot health needs, including those at high risk of complications. You will be supported with structured supervision, mentorship, and access to training to develop advanced clinical and leadership skills. • Deliver evidence-based podiatry care to patients with at-risk foot conditions, musculoskeletal problems and minor surgery.
• Undertake assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a defined caseload, including domiciliary care.
• Develop skills in high-risk foot management, including diabetic wound care
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in acute settings
• Develop MSK clinics with the specialist team
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with organisational standards
• Participate in audit, service improvement, and CPD activities
Band 7 (Upon Completion of Competencies)
• Manage a complex caseload including high-risk and ulcerated patients
• Participate in delivering of MSK services
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff and students
• Contribute to service development, pathways, and quality improvement initiatives
• Lead on clinical audits and implementation of best practice guidelines
• Support workforce development and training within the service
• Work closely with MDT colleagues including vascular teams, diabetes services, and GPs
Progression from Band 6 to Band 7 will be achieved through:
• Completion of an agreed competency framework
• Demonstration of advanced clinical reasoning and autonomous practice
• Evidence of leadership, supervision, and service development involvement
• Formal review and sign-off by senior clinical leads
