Advanced Specialist Pharmacist - Neurology

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in delivering and developing a high-quality clinical pharmacy service within Neurology, supporting patients primarily on the multiple sclerosis pathway receiving complex and high-cost therapies, including biologics. You will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to outpatient clinics, virtual care pathways and medicines optimisation, while promoting safe, effective and evidence-based use of medicines., There will be opportunities to provide advice to medical and nursing staff on the safe, efficient use of medicines and their prescribing and administration whilst overseeing supervision and training of Pharmacy colleagues as required. You will be involved in clinical supervision of junior pharmacists and develop an appropriate training programme to enable a range of pharmacists to contribute to pharmaceutical care in surgical settings. The successful candidate will collaborate with system partners to improve service provision and share good practice, whilst also being independent prescriber, or be working towards the role within an agreed time frame.   We are seeking an individual with strong clinical expertise, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. You will be confident working autonomously as a non-medical prescriber and leading on service development, governance and quality improvement initiatives. The role also requires the ability to influence practice, support education and training, and contribute to financial stewardship through effective management of high-cost medicines and CIP programmes.
