Advanced Pharmacist - Women and Children

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated individual to join our clinical pharmacy team as an Advanced Pharmacist - Women and Children. This is fixed term 12 month post to cover maternity leave. You will provide a clinical pharmacy service to our womens and childrens wards. Therefore significant recent and relevant experience of providing a clinical pharmacy service to paediatrics is expected.

You will also be responsible for providing directorate support to the women and children directorate within the Family and Specialist Services division

You will be strongly encouraged to come up with innovative ideas to improve the clinical service alongside increased medicines efficiency savings.

You will require excellent communication and leadership skills, and be comfortable collaborating with clinicians, managers, nurses and others to ensure that pharmaceutical care of ill patients with a range of clinical conditions is safe and optimised. You will also be involved in training and teaching junior members of the pharmacy team alongside the wider MDT.

Line management experience would be beneficial, as you will be involved in the sickness management, appraisal and general line management responsibilities of our team of rotational band 7 staff., You will be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have successfully completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or be able to demonstrate equivalent and transferrable experience. You will also be a registered non-medical prescriber.

Training and support will be given and a commitment to continuing professional development is essential.

The role will include participation in weekend and bank holiday working.

Applicants should have knowledge of therapeutics and medicine use and experience of audit, risk management and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of staff.

This role is critical to providing a high quality clinical service to patients. The post holder will need to be flexible and organised, be able to align their values with those of the organisation, have the ability to delegate effectively and to work as part of a team with a 'can do' positive attitude.

We have recently installed a pharmacy dispensing robot at our Calderdale site and are a trailblazing site with the introduction of electronic controlled drug registers (eCDR) which has lead to nomination for a HSJ award
