Advanced Pharmacist - Clinical Trials

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish a dedicated Pharmacy Clinical Trials team at Glan Clwyd Hospital. As part of a growing research portfolio, including significant oncology and haematology activity supported by the North Wales Cancer Centre, you will play a key role in enabling patients across North Wales to access innovative and potentially life-changing treatments through clinical research.

Working closely with pharmacy, research and development, and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide leadership for the clinical trials pharmacy service and contribute to its ongoing development. This is a rare opportunity to shape a newly developing specialist service, influence practice, and develop new ways of working within an expanding research environment. If you are looking for a role that combines clinical expertise, leadership, service development, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care, this position offers an excellent platform to help shape the future of clinical trials pharmacy within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board., You will lead the pharmacy clinical trials service, ensuring the safe and compliant management of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) across a varied research portfolio. Responsibilities include protocol review, study set-up, oversight of trial medicines, provision of specialist pharmaceutical advice, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and Good Clinical Practice requirements. You will work closely with clinicians, research teams, sponsors, and pharmacy colleagues to support the safe delivery of clinical trials and contribute to audit, governance, service improvement, and workforce development activities.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety. You will demonstrate leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to analyse complex information and work effectively across professional boundaries. Experience in oncology, haematology, aseptic services or research would be advantageous.

The post includes participation in a weekend and public holiday rota supporting the wider pharmacy service.
