Advanced Paramedic

Paramedics work autonomously within the community using their enhanced clinical assessment and treatment skills, to provide first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems relating to minor illness or injury, abdominal pains, chest pains and headaches. They are health professionals who have the capability to make sound judgements in the absence of full information and to manage varying degrees of risk when there are complex, competing or ambiguous information or uncertainty,

• Clinical care delivery Assess, triage, diagnose and manage patients with acute, chronic and complex needs, perform investigations (e.g., ECGs, bloods), prescribe safely and provide urgent/emergency interventions.
• Health promotion & patient support Promote selfmanagement, deliver preventative care, support treatment adherence and provide clear advice on medications and lifestyle.
• Teamwork & communication Work collaboratively across the multidisciplinary team, maintain accurate records, liaise with community services and contribute to meetings and shared care pathways.
• Quality, governance & development Participate in audits, research and service improvement, uphold professional standards, maintain CPD, follow policies (GDPR, H&S, equality) and support education/training activities.

We work over 2 purpose-built sites in Bletchley with a list size of 21,500 and growing. You will be working with a large and friendly team. There is a strong emphasis on training with Nursing students, medical students, and GP Trainees.
