Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed-term maternity leave cover post within the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) team in Children's and Young People's Cancer Services at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).
UCLH hosts the largest Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) cancer service in the UK, providing specialist care for young people aged 13-24 years undergoing treatment for a wide range of malignancies. This role is primarily based within the Daycare/Ambulatory Care service and plays a key role within the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).
The ANP role is a well-established and highly valued position within TYA cancer services at UCLH. The post holder will work across traditional professional boundaries, undertaking advanced clinical practice responsibilities while contributing to innovative, interprofessional models of care.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a high standard of holistic, evidence-based care to adolescents and young adults with cancer.
This fixed-term post offers excellent opportunities for professional development, advanced clinical practice, and experience within a nationally recognised specialist cancer service., o Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.o Undertake clinical review and assessment of children and young people (CYP) throughout their treatment journey, developing, implementing, and communicating individualised plans of care.o Identify CYP at increased risk of treatment-related complications and implement appropriate preventative and supportive interventions within scope of practice.o Provide holistic support to address the psychosocial needs of CYP and their families throughout treatment.o Review and support patient pathways within cancer treatment services, proactively identifying and addressing gaps in care delivery.o Ensure effective communication and coordination with inpatient teams, daycare services, referring hospitals, and associated healthcare professionals to support seamless patient care.o Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and the ongoing advancement of TYA cancer
care.
