Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Head and Neck Advanced Surgical Oncology Fellow to join our dynamic team. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for advanced training and specialization in the field of head and neck surgical oncology under the guidance of leading experts. The appointment is for a full-time position providing exposure and training in all areas of Otolaryngological head and neck surgery including robotic surgery and free tissue pharyngeal reconstruction. This is a one year clinical fellowship programme designed to develop skills to a level that will enable independent practice as a Head & Neck Surgeon. Clinical and educational supervision will be provided by Mr Sethi, Simons & Ubayasiri., The fellowship will be primarily head and neck surgical oncology though benign head and neck disease forms part of the workload. Duties are at Nottingham University Hospitals.
The fellow is not expected to take part in the middle grade 'hot week' oncall rota though there is an explicit expectation for the fellow to support head and neck emergency cases, and ward patients, during the working day. The fellow may also contribute to the middle tier of out of hours on-call provision.
They will be expected to help with the training of new junior doctors (F2 - ST2) and medical students, when they start in the department.
This post is designed as a post CCT position, but those nearing completion of their specialist training programme or equivalent will be considered. Please note however that this period may not be accredited for training by the Royal College of Surgeons.

There are three ENT operating theatres as well as paediatric theatres with a wide range of equipment including CO2 and KTP lasers, and Image Guidance systems.
There is an established Head & Neck Robotic Surgery programme led by Mr Simons & Mr Sethi as well as close working links with Maxillofacial, Thoracic, Vascular & Upper GI Surgery.
