Full Job Description
Are you a nurse or allied health professional with an AP qualification? Do you have cardiology paediatric experience/knowledge/skills, or would you like to develop this skill set further at AP higher level of practice, across the 4 pillars? This is a unique opportunity to develop your expert cardiac knowledge, clinical assessment, and case management, building on existing knowledge, experience and skills, at one of the top children's cardiac centres in England, caring for a wide range of children and young people with congenital and acquired heart disease. We are looking for passionate individuals, who place the child, young person, and their families at the centre of their care, based on safe, highly quality, and effective care provision along the clinical care pathways, working within a well-established Advanced Practitioner Cardiology team. We are committed to a sustainable, high level, Advanced Practitioner team, & best patient outcomes. We will support your individual development plans for the year ahead, working with a named AP and consultant cardiology supervisor. We will also develop with you, a robust and supportive orientation plan to the trust & your understanding of children's cardiology services. Dedicated Lead AP and the trust have an AP faculty on site, leading on academic and professional practice. We welcome and highly recommend an informal chat to discuss the role, your individual requirements & a site visit to the clinical area to meet the local team.,
- To be an expert clinical ACP & role model in the field of respiratory paediatric healthcare, ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient care
- To ensure the 6Cs and professional standards are embedded within clinical practice
- To ensure clinical practice reflects professional and national guidance and practice is delivered in line with the scope of practice and trust policies and guidelines
- To be a proactive clinical leader, demonstrating effective excellent leadership skills
- To promote best practice, utilising local and regional benchmarking groups for the generation and promotion of standards and clinical guidelines
- To support transformation /quality improvement work streams as appropriate
- To foster enquiry, to contribute to new ideas and innovations and develop enhanced and advanced roles within the scope of professional practice
- Supervise and mentor healthcare professionals developing advanced clinical roles across the directorate/ trust, to ensure the high levels of competence required
- To act as a resource for other staff and learners and foster an environment conducive to learning for all staff
- To be proactive in developing own professional practice, demonstrating evidence of autonomy, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills
