Full Job Description
Working Part time: 30 hours per week We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy and medical education teams on a fixed-term basis as secondment cover. The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of education for undergraduate medical students and doctors in training, alongside providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients.

The department utilises robotic dispensing, electronic prescribing, and electronic pharmaceutical care planning, and delivers care through ward-based clinical pharmacy services, pharmacist-led clinics, and a large team of independent prescribers., Role specific responsibilities
1. To prepare, organise and deliver teaching as part of the safe prescribing program for undergraduate medical students as specified by the Universities of Liverpool and Chester Medical Schools.
2. Attend the regional safe prescribing pharmacy group meetings and contribute to the syllabus planning process at the Universities.
3. Apply highly specialist knowledge to the preparation and delivery of education material to undergraduate medical students and doctors in training in line with the GMC / HENW guidelines and strategy for safe prescribing.
4. Upon completion of the relevant training prepare and mark assessments for medical undergraduate students in line with university requirements e.g. FOSCE, OSCE, PSA and admission assessments.
5. Prepare and deliver teaching to Foundation level doctors and mark/assess work as necessary in accordance with the national syllabus set out by the GMC e.g. Portfolios.
6. Participate in the education of Foundation level doctors in line with the Trust's strategy and in response to learning from clinical incidents.
7. Carry out evaluative audit and research work relating to the education role, where relevant.
8. To act as advanced pharmacist for the pharmaceutical care service provided to a defined clinical area.
Applicants must be registered with the GPhC and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy. Good teaching or presentation skills are essential, along with relevant post-registration experience (as outlined in the person specification).
The Trust's services are provided from three locations: o The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds. o Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility. o Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population. The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System. Due to its location on the border with North Wales, the Trust also works closely with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust treats patients from England and some parts of Wales. During 2024/2025, there were approximately 643,000 patient attendances
(inpatient, A&E, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery
