Full Job Description
This role suits an experienced Biomedical Scientist with strong tissue dissection expertise, ready to step into an advanced role within a modern, digitally led histopathology service. You will be trusted for your technical skill, judgement, and professionalism, working closely with Consultant Pathologists and colleagues to deliver consistently high quality results. In return, you will bring HCPC registration, ISO 15189 experience, strong dissection expertise and the confidence to work autonomously while supporting and developing others., In this role, you will undertake a broad range of routine and complex histological tasks, with a strong focus on delivering high quality tissue dissection. Acting as an advanced point of reference within the laboratory, you will promote consistency, quality, and best practice in dissection techniques, supporting colleagues and maintaining high professional standards. You will oversee the management of dissection equipment and consumables, ensuring service continuity through effective stock control. The position also involves contributing to the day to day organisation and strategic operation of the Histopathology Department, helping to meet turnaround time targets while upholding excellent patient care. Working collaboratively with Consultant Pathologists and the wider team, you will support efficient workflows and drive service improvements. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing ISO 15189 compliance through quality assurance and continuous improvement activities, while supporting the training, development, and competency assessment of colleagues within the team.
