Adult Social Care Finance Team Lead
Job Information
We are looking to recruit a Finance Team Lead within Adult Social Care. The post holder will be responsible for managing 9 staff (Financial Assessments and Benefits Coordinators).
The team is responsible for billing clients, their assessed contribution, for care and support services arranged by the Council (Residential and Non-Residential services). The team also completes financial assessment reviews for clients in permanent residential care in accordance with The Care Act 2014. The team operates a dedicated customer helpline for clients and their families, providing expert advice about care charges and account related queries.
The post holder must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. These skills are essential to the role to ensure accurate billing and identifying discrepancies using data analysis within the billing runs.
The successful candidate must have excellent communications skills and be able to deal with complex queries regarding charging and assessments in line with The Care Act 2014. The individual will have access to DWP systems under strict guidelines. The post holder will be motivated and lead the team, ensuring processes are followed consistently and within set key performance indicators set by the department. The post holder will work collaboratively with other Finance Leads, Managers and other teams within the Council.
The role may require travelling to other Council offices, meeting clients and/or their financial representatives at their home, or at a Council site.
The post is based at County Hall, Morpeth.
Requirements of this role:
- A high standard of Maths and English.
- The ability to work at a fast pace.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- A valid UK Driving Licence with access to a car for work purposes.
