Adult & Paediatric Crisis Worker - Bransford / Telford - 0Hrs

You'll support adults, children and families attending a Sexual Assault Referral Centre, often at an incredibly difficult and vulnerable time. From the moment someone contacts the service, you'll help create a safe, calm and supportive environment. You'll explain what happens next, advocate for their needs and choices, and support them through the practical and emotional aspects of attending the SARC, including where appropriate their forensic medical examination., No two cases will be the same. Your role will include:

• Welcoming and supporting adults, children and their families when they attend the SARC
• Providing clear, sensitive information by telephone and in person
• Acting as an advocate for the patient throughout their time at the Centre
What will you be doing?
• Helping people understand the process and supporting them before, during and after a forensic medical examination
• Working alongside healthcare professionals, Police and other agencies to provide coordinated support
• Assisting with the practical administration associated with each case and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting the forensic process, including preparing the environment and assisting with the collection of forensic evidence
• Maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and DNA decontamination required within a forensic environment
• Supporting patients and liaising with relevant agencies in relation to historic cases
